Six Interesting Things That Happened on September 24

By Michelle Carr Crowe, Silicon Valley guide and Cupertino real estate agent selling San Jose homes

Some days are filled with important anniversaries and celebrations, others days, not so much.

Here are Six Interesting Things That Happened on September 24.

In pop culture, three different programs all debuted on September 24 in the 1960’s.

The silly cartoon, “Rocky and Bullwinkle” first aired in 1961.

Two seminal television shows premiered on this date in 1968: the stereotype-shattering undercover police drama, “The Mod Squad,” and the real-life in-depth news program, “60 Minutes.”

The first transatlantic telephone cable was completed in 1956.

The first nuclear aircraft carrier launched on this date in 1960, the USS Enterprise.

Finally, the world’s longest recorded kiss was recorded on September 24 – totalling 17 days and 10.5 hours.

Aloha & God bless you,

Michelle
