Let's Get Serious New Mexico...a view from the man in the street

The arrest of UNM Political Science Professor Chris Garcia came as a shock to many people in New Mexico...or did it? People say things publicly, but privately they do the opposite. Some seem to think that his decades of contribution to the New mexico should end this way.   How do you really feel about Chris Garcia?  It raises more questions:

As it was reported in the news, there is a list of clientele...Who are they?

Will it include people in "High Places?"

What if you find out that a member of your family is on the list?

What if you realize that your boss is one of them?

What if your wife or husband is on the list?

What kind of punishment will be given?

I’ve never been able to understand how otherwise successful people manage to fall so low on the moral scale.

Good Morning C Lloyd, this is the first I have heard the news.  I justread the news articles on the web.  It is a sad situation that does not speak well for the academic world.

We (my wife and I) will be following the story.

The next meeting of the Acedemic Senate at UNM should be interesting.

Good Morning C. Lloyd,

What did Chris Garcia get accused of doing? I will try to look it up later..

Robert: He is allegedly one of the masterminds behind an onlline prostitution ring. The fallout from this should be quite interesting

Dan: It is a unfortunate, however you slice it.  Thanks for your outstanding comment.

Michael: Very discerning observation.  I just wonder if society had a different criteria to measure success, if it would make a difference.  Or maybe there is no correlation between success and morality.

C. Lloyd,

He is just joining the ever growing list of high placed people who say one thing and do another. I think overall it is a sad statement on our society. He should punished like anyone else; I am just embarrass as a Hispanic! If my husband was on the list well let's just say he would not be my husband for long! Have a good day.

All people make mistakes and fortunately, they are usually the type that we can recover from.  Sometimes we make a mistake of the type that we can not recover from.  God grant me the foresight to appreciate that difference.

C. Lloyd,

Thanks for responding. i hope they staighten out that mess.

As Wynton Marsalis said last night on 60 minutes " If you are not making mistakes you are not trying hard enough" . I think that pertains to all of life.
