In the excitement of finally closing on the sale of your home (packing, moving, making plans for your new home etc.), don't forget the reason for the excitement; your buyers.
One way to show your appreciation, is to "Leave them a Gift". And add a note of appreciation that they chose your home (do this no matter how difficult of an escrow it was, remember all escrows are now 'difficult').
A gift certificate to a great local restaurant is an excellent idea. They may even use it the night they move in.
In your note tell them a little about the restaurant and that you hope they enjoy their meal. Even if they are local they may not have experienced the restaurant you have chosen.
How to make sure they receive it? You have to turn over the 'key's' to your home, place the gift certificate in a large envelope with the key's when you turn the key's over to your listing agent.
Start the new owners of your home out on the right foot. Your efforts will be rewarded. And you will feel good about extending a 'Thank You'.
