Let's Talk Albuquerque!

The current debate on whether or not the debt ceiling should be raised shows a lack on understanding on many fronts.

Members of Congress

Members of the media

Some Americans

Let's address the members of congress first.  This should not be a political issue.  The interest of the USA is at stake here.  Maybe we should make it a requirement that everyone who runs for political office be required to take a course in Macro Economics.

Members of the Media are primarily focused on ratings, so they sometimes say the most outrageous things; one wonders whether or not that are out of touch.  I have turned off the TV...tune them out

Then there are those americans, who have no idea about the subject, but feel compelled to weigh in in the discourse.  They are the ones who have to call in on the radio, CSPAN, etc.  Just remember...sometimes, it's better to listen and learn.

Here are the facts, the issue concerns money we have already borrowed.  So Go Ahead! Let America Default! Now tell me how are you going to fix it?  There is an obvious philosophical difference in terms of how to solve our economic crisis.  But that should be open for debate at a later date.  So all you "Overnight Fiscal Conservatives," release the chains from off the back of the American people

Wow - and Rock on! I have stopped listening too, becuase I refuse to give the media my energy and I am smart enough to know that they FEED on us living in fear - as soon as this "crisis" is over, we'll be overwhelmed with something else we are suppose to Fear as well. Kelli

Good Evening C Lloyd, your have several very good points in your post.  In my opinion the most important one is "This should not be a political issue'.

Your opinions are always appreciated and speak for the majority of Americans!

Spot on comment. Perhaps term limits would stop the show boating and make them understand that they are they to do our business for a short period of time.

Good morning Lloyd.

30,000,000 people are out of a job...How much money is it in lost income for the government...?

C. Lloyd,

I like the macro economic course idea. Most of these politicians have no clue about economics or for that matter anything other than making money for themselves or getting publicity.
