Let's Talk Albuquerque!

In Breaking News this afternoon, KOB TV reported that the University of New Mexico has fired embattled Head Coach Mike Locksley.  After losing what was to be his last game yesterday to Sam Houston State 45-42, Locksley was fired today. As the head coach, Locksley had a very dismal record...hardly the kind of record that will draw new recruits to the program.  There has been calls for his ouster from all over.  To the relief of many Lobo Fans this could not have come sooner.  Locksley will walk away with $450,000 for the remainder of his contract.

Defensive Coordinator George Harlow will be the interim Head Coach while a nationwide search for a new Head Coach is conducted.

This will now give UNM a chance to start rebuilding its Football rogram.  We wish them all the best.  GO LOBOS!

Good Morning C Lloyd, UNM has needed a great football program for years.  Hopefully the change will be an improvement.  Five players from this area have played college footballl in New Mexico in the last few years, one who lives across the street.  They all went to NMSU in Crucis.

I do have to say that UNM has always had an excellent Alpine Ski Team!  They can d the same with football.

C Lloyd,

I hope this gives the Lobos a chance to rebuild as I mentioned to you a couple of weeks ago I saw a license plate of the Lobos and thought of you. I remember the Lobos from my NM days! I wish I could walk away and quit with $450K LOL

C. Lloyd,

New Mexico has definitely fallen into hard times for their football program and maybe new blood and a new program will inject some life into New Mexico football. It has to be difficult to recruit when competing against west coast and Texas schools.
