Will Facebook Continues to be Free?

Will Facebook Continues to be Free?

Lately, it has been widely publicized that come this Wednesday, Facebook, the most popular social media platform will filing paperwork for an Initial Public Offering (IPO).

What are the implications of this filing? Will it mean business as usual for Facebook Users? I am interested in knowing what people think about this.  Will Facebook start charging for its service?  I believe that like Active Rain it will monetize most of these millions of accounts.  Some will be gradfathered in, while others, the majority of accounts will be converted to premium accounts.  What great timing?  Imagine though you can now  invest in the future of Facebook.

C Lloyd - I think, generally, when a company becomes public, shareholder will ask for more revenue. There is a possibility facebook will charge a fee in the future.

I rarely use it except to check tenant prospects and a private family group set up by my sister.  Google+ is for ADULTS

I like Wallace's comment above.  The minute FB starts charging a fee, I can shut it down for good ... with good reason!  I am still not a fan of FB!

Hmmm. This is a question that has floated around Facebook forever. There are other resources. Kids won't pay.... Adults won't either. The day they charge for memberships is the day LinkedIn and Google+ take over the world.

Good Evig Lidsey,

That is keen observation.  Facebook is moving forward with its IPO.  It will be a giant among giants.  Things will definitely change

C Lloyd,

I have to agree with the above comments I will not pay for FB.
