Now that Facebook is Publicly Traded What's Next?

The Much Anticipated IPO for Facebook (FB) happened last Friday.  Like many others, I watched with much anticipation. FB was touted as the biggest IPO in history, yet after all the hooplah and the hype, the stock tumbled by about 33%.  Now there is talk that there were some irregularities and some of the underwriters may be getting subpoenas.  After one week of trading FB Closes at $31.92 per share.  Imagine if you are the guy that bought FB at the Opening Price of $45.00 per share last week?

So what''s next for Facebook?  I think many changes are in the future of FB.  I think that they will monetize many of the things that are currently free.  Much like Market Leader has monetized AR.  Here is an interesting piece of information, Zynga, a company that is  intricately tied to Facebook has seen its stock tumbled just like FB.  It is fascinating to watch.  I am curious to know what others think.  What changes do you anticipate for Facebook?

I DID NOT FALL FOR THE HYPE and I have 33% more money than many people today.  You had to see the writing on the wall if you had any investment sense at all.

Like always, I sat back and waited to see what would happen.  Good to see you, my friend.

Lloyd, stock market is like real estate. When every body is selling you buy, when every body is buying and you sell then you will make profits.

C. Lloyd-Lots of people must have missed the dot com bubble of a few years ago. FB may eventually be a good investment, but based on current revenues, they will need to get significant revenue streams before this will be a stable stock in my opinion.

Lloyd,

Personally I am not a believer in Facebook as a viable business. I really do not see it at all. Who really reads any of the ads on Facebook??? Their stock price dropping did not surprise me. Facebook is a social place and that is all.

C. Lloyd,

Facebook is good as a social site, but the stock market proves that it's not always easy to make something into a great money maker.  They may try to charge for more things, like Active Rain did, but they need to keep many users to remain successful at all.  I'm not sure how many people believe that the ads/etc,. can generate a lot of money for a great profit stream!
