Department of Justice (DOJ) Investigates the Albuquerque Police Department (APD)

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is currently investigating the Albuquerque Police Department to determine whether or not APD used “unreasonable deadly force against civilians.”

Since 2010 there has been 23 officer-involved shootings in the City of Albuquerque, 17 of them were fatal.  This has definitely put a strain on the Police Department and local citizen groups.

Recognizing that the Police Department is an important part of our community, it is my hope that this investigation will bring some positive results in regards to the relationship between the Police and the residents of our community.

Wow, Lloyd that is not a good situation.  I don't know enough about the incidents, the Police, or the victims to state an Opinion.   I just hope that the shootings stop, and that the Citizens of Albuquerque will again have confidence in Local Law Enforcement.
