Record Setting Snowstorm in MA, CT and 4 other States makes me count my Blessings

The snowstorm that Massachusetts, Connecticut, and four other surrounding states experienced over the past 24 hours, will go down as one of the most severe ever on record.  It snowed at the rate of 5 inches per hour.  MA received the bulk of it, and up to 36 inches in most areas.

The good thing is that people heeded the warning by public officials.  In MA for example, they were so serious about this, that in addition to the state of emergency, they instituted a driving ban.  Anyone caught driving on the streets after a certain time would be fined $500 and sentenced to one-year imprisonment.

Well, there was good reason for taking these precautions. The storm came with a vengeance.  At about 2:00 am EST, my son Charles who lives in Cambridge, MA sent me a picture he took of the snow across from his apartment.  Here is what it looked like:

Fast forward to 7:00 am today and I got some more incredible pictures from my younger son Christopher who lives in Salem, Mass.  He had a great time taking the pictures…check them out:

Here is a funny one from my son Charles…taken from his basement took another picture from the basement of his apartment.  It was posted on his FACEBOOK page.  Here it is:

I'll try to upload it later..

In my conversation with my sons we agree that New Mexico is a great place to live.  We do not get extreme weather conditions like other states.  Tonight I count my blessing…Albuquerque New Mexico is a great place to live.

Mr C. Lloyd, thanks for sharing your sons photo and its good to hear he is well and survived this horrible storm. I'm sure there is many who aren't fortunate to have a warm home and our prayers are with them. Tell Christopher to stay inside....yikes that's allot of snow.

The best part of not being able to go anywhere is weekend is the one on one time my wife and I had. 30 inches of snow at our home, it sure was a sight to see.

Hi Lloyd -- I'm glad both of your sons heeded the advice of public officials and stayed off the roads during the blizzard -- that's a lot of snow!

Hi C. Lloyd,

Thank you for sharing the photo's of your sons area. Now I remember why I moved to New Mexico.

Forget about the Northern part of the state that can still get weather like this.

Have a great day in the Duke City my friend.

Best, Clint McKie
